We're pleased to announce that Local Shops 2.0 is now available for download in the iTunes appstore!
Local Shops is a free application that enables you to search for, find information about, and follow local businesses and landmarks of interest to you. With version 2.0, you can now:
- Follow your favorite businesses.
- Browse featured products for businesses.
- Find special deals and hot offers available near you.
- Save your favorite places, photos, product information and offers for easy access.
We've also enhanced the search functionality to bring you better results. You can find out more about the improvements and new features here at our website, or you can go directly to the Local Shops page in iTunes.
We're pleased to announce that we have shipped a new iPhone/iPod version of Local Shops, version 2.0, to Apple. We hope to have it approved and available for download very soon.
Local Shops 2.0 was jointly developed with our development partner, Navitas Games. This new version of Local Shops adds several new features, such as the ability to find offers and featured products from merchants. Merchants will be able to add and maintain listings for their businesses and to create coupons and featured product listings for free using the Taptin Merchant Portal, an online service soon to be released by Navitas Games.
Navitas Games has also just shipped TAPTIN, a social trading cards game for location check-ins, to the Apple appstore. Mo'Blast is a marketing partner for Navitas Games, so we encourage everyone to try out TAPTIN as soon as it is available on the iTunes appstore!
Heads up to all our users! We are in the process of migrating our servers. You can expect that access to Local Shops will be interrupted for certain periods of time. But we will be up and running again soon, better than ever!
In addition, we will be shipping a new version of Local Shops very soon, so stay tuned!
You may have noticed a new look here on the blog as well as on our company website. We're in the process of transitioning to a completely new design which will better reflect our growing number of products. It's still a bit of a work in progress, however, so you can expect to see a few more changes take place.
In the near future, we will be releasing a number of new applications and products, as well as updated versions of our existing products. We have partnered with Navitas Games to distribute a wide range of exciting new mobile apps and online services, including mobile social gaming apps, educational apps, local consumer apps, and local business services. On the iPad's launch day, Mo'Blast was among the companies offering iPad-optimized apps in the iTunes appstore. At that point, we had only been able to text those apps using a simulator. However, now that we have our own iPads to play with, we're thrilled with the way our apps look on that platform.
We think that the iPad opens things up for a whole new range of media-rich applications. We're really excited about the possibilities this creates for Mo'Blast. At the same time, we're also still very committed to more traditional mobile apps that run on smartphones like the iPhone and Android. We think the this greater variety will be good for us, and good for our users!
